Celebrating and Showcasing Your Talent
Annual Unified General Audtions
Each year ACoT hosts an area wide general audition that can showcase your talent. This is a great opportunity for actors to have their work seen by major Central Texas producers, directors, and casting agents. It's also a great way for new directors and companies to get to know their peers as well as local talent. Casting directors, directors and producers from around the state audit, and actors from around the state may participate.

The 2008 Texas State Auditions have not yet been posted.

B. Iden Payne Awards
Named for the renowned British theater director and teacher who profouncly influenced the drama department at University of Texas at Austin, the B. Iden Payne Awards are awarded annually to recognize outstanding contributions to the Austin theater community . Each year, a nominating committe reviews eligible productions in order to prepare the ballot that is sent out to all ACoT members at the beginning of the new season. The members votes are tallied by an independent accounting firm, and it's not until the envelope is opened — at a ceremony in October— that we know who the winners are.

Advocacy
ACoT collaborates with other Arts groups to facilitate Arts Forums to query candidates on their stand on the arts. ACoT also serves on the Create Austin task forces and speaks on behalf of the Arts Community at City Council and sessions at our State Capital. We also meet with funders, government represent5atives, civic agencies and commissions to encourage more support for the Arts.

Membership
If you like our programs and if you want to see the performing arts in Austin supported and strengthened, please consider becoming a member. ACoT membership brings many great benefits, but more importantly, your membership supports ACoT in its efforts to create greater awareness of the collective community.

What's good for the community is good for the artists, good for the companies — and vice versa. The intangible promotional, community building, and awareness aspects of our collective organization provide the greatest value to our larger Austin community.

We welcome your participation and celebrate your achievements Membership supports what we do, and enables us to offer our member theaters good support programs. In exchange, we give you a card that's good for discounts at theaters all over town. Plus we email weekly updates about what's going on in town — that is, with your permission.
